Arthur Childs

DO, FACOI

Dr. Arthur Childs, DO, FACOI has been appointed as “Best in Medicine” by the American Health Council in recognition of his dedication to the healthcare industry. Being an expert in his field for over 31 years, Dr. Childs has amassed a considerable amount of knowledge and experience throughout his career, driven by a passion for helping his patients to achieve the best possible care.

Studying at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, Dr. Childs attained his medical degree, graduating in 1986. During this period, he trained in Internal Medicine and also took on additional training in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Arthur Childs very quickly developed his own interpretation of how medical care should be delivered and embarked on the bold step of setting up his own healthcare establishment, Dr. Arthur Childs Medical Home. Taking up the role of Medical Director, which he has proudly upheld for the past 26 years, the organization offers a private practice facility to his patients, specializing in Internal Medicine and Critical Care.
Finding great satisfaction through being part of the everyday lives and major decisions regarding health and well-being of his patients, Dr. Childs’ daily responsibilities see him being on call and readily available 24/7 to care for his patients. Practicing medicine in a patient-centered medical home model allows him to offer his patients an uncompromising level of care in exactly the way he believes it should be without the bureaucracy often associated with other medical establishments.

Dr. Childs’ keen interest in medicine stemmed from his young love of science combined with his natural ability and desire to selflessly take care of others. He attributes his success to his determination to never compromise his values and his commitment to always putting the welfare of his patient first.
Continually looking to broaden his knowledge in order to give his patients the best possible care, Dr. Childs is a member of a number of professional associations including the American College of Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. With an ongoing mission to make a positive impact on the healthcare field, Dr. Childs is currently enrolled in a Masters of Science program provided by the Jefferson School of Public Health, with the aim of helping foster better care and quality for the greater good with a degree in Healthcare Quality, Safety and Management.

Throughout Dr. Childs’ prestigious career, he holds his time completing his internship, residency, and fellowship in Critical Care and Internal Medicine in extremely high regard. Also during his time practicing medicine he has fulfilled multiple leadership roles including President of Medical Staff, Chairman of Credentials, Chairman of Critical Care, Board of Trustees at his Local Community Hospital and Chairman and Creator of the Multi-Speciality Peer Review Committee.

Dr. Childs has also had the exciting opportunity to lecture around the country for the American Hospital Association where he has shared his knowledge and insight into issues surrounding Sepsis Care and Quality.

When Dr. Childs is away from his work responsibilities he enjoys spending quality time with his family while preparing for his next adventures traveling. Dr. Childs has also proudly donated his time to JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity, where he also held the prestigious position of Chair in 2017.
