Dr. Banafsheh Yafeh has been has been honored by the American Health Council as “Best in Medicine” in acknowledgement of her dedication and contributions to Stroke Neurology. The acclaimed stroke neurologist has accrued fourteen years of experience and is a highly respected medical professional.
To pursue her chosen career path, Dr. Yafeh gained her Medical Doctorate from the University of Southern California; Keck School of Medicine and graduated in 2003. During her time at UCLA, Dr. Yafeh gained insight into the role of Director of the Stroke Unit and this is what inspired her to pursue this specific career path. In the vast majority of cases, strokes are life changing events and what most appealed to Dr. Yafeh was that her role required her to be with the patient throughout the whole process. After attaining her Neurology Residency at Barrow Neurological Institute between 2006-2009, she then went on to undertake a Vascular Neurology Fellowship from Northwestern University between 2009-2010.
Dr. Yafeh is currently working as a Stroke Neurologist at the NeuroMedical Diagnostic Medical Group and has been fulfilling the role for six years. As a stroke neurologist, Dr. Yafeh’s day to day responsibilities include treating patients who have suffered a stroke, an aneurysm, and various other vascular neurology problems. Dr. Yafeh also assists patients during the recovery of these medical conditions. Additionally, she makes time and treats general neurology patients every other month.

Throughout her impressive career to date, Dr. Yafeh has had a number of achievements that she is particularly proud of, one of these being a board certified neurologist. Whilst Dr. Yafeh’s exceptional passion and determination has helped her excel in her career, she also humbly attributes her success to the support she has received from her mentors, educators, and her family.. She wants to continue to have these successes and to treat her patients like family by showing them compassion during what can often be a very difficult time.
To continue to broaden her knowledge and understanding, Dr. Yafeh is a member of a number of esteemed professional organizations, including the American Health Council, the American Stroke Association and the American Neurological Association.
When not busy working, Dr. Yafeh enjoys spending time and socializing with her friends and family, as well as going for walks through the park and watching movies.
