The American Health Council has cordially appointed Ms. Christine Kalafut, MPAS, PA-CPT as Best in Medicine. Having worked in the healthcare industry for just under a decade, Ms. Kalafut has proven to be an expert in the fields of emergency medicine, critical thinking, and patient care.
Ms. Kalafut has always enjoyed helping those in need; her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and Ms. Kalafut became her care-giver. She also previously worked in the Army as a medical officer. However, after her time in the army, Ms. Kalafut decided to become a Community EMT.
In 2013, Ms. Kalafut graduated from Touro University Manhattan with a Physician Associate Studies, MPAS degree. Following this, she has been fulfilling her role as Physician Assistant at Emcare Newton Medical Center for the past 4 years. Newton Medical Center is a 162-bed community hospital with 30 Emergency Department beds, serving Northwestern New Jersey as well as the Poconos and New York. For more than 40 years, EmCare has been a trusted, dependable partner for hospitals and other healthcare organizations nationwide, and a comfortable home for many of the nation’s most skilled and trusted clinicians.
The medical center offers a range of treatments and services including, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, healthcare, nursing, patient care, acute care, anesthesiology, radiology, and teleradiology.
As a physician assistant, Ms. Kalafut upholds a variety of responsibilities. She works in Emergency Medicine providing trauma and acute care as well as other emergency related procedures. Additionally, Ms. Kalafut educates her patients and their families on their conditions and individualized course of treatment.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kalafut has enjoyed a number of achievements that she remains extremely proud of. She is honoured to have had the opportunity to serve in the United States Army and to have been appointed Fellow at the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Ms. Kalafut attributes her success to her hard work and the consistent support from her family.
To ensure Ms. Kalafut keeps up to date with relevant news and developments as well as share her own knowledge, she is a member of several professional organizations. These include the New Jersey Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Professional goals over the next five years involve continuing her work as a physician assistant, as well as engaging in some military work.
When not at work, Ms. Kalafut enjoys working out.
