Deepika Jain


An Attending Nephrologist at RWJBarnabas Health, internationally recognized Polio Eradication Evangelist, and Renal Disease Educator, Dr. Deepika Jain is being recognized by the American Health Council for her 12+ years within the healthcare industry, including 3 in her current position. With expertise in Nephrology, Acute Renal Failure, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis, and Renal Transplantation Care, Dr. Jain continues to revolutionize every aspect of American healthcare, being honored as a “Leader in Medicine”.

Dr. Jain graduated in 2005 with her MD from Lady Hardinge Medical College, a New Delhi-based medical university for women established in 1916. She holds a Residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Fellowship in Nephrology from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and has held an Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Along with RWJBarnabas Health, Dr. Jain is also affiliated with Jersey City Medical Center, Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken Medical Center, and Christ Hospital Kidney Group.

Citing a personal calling to become a doctor, Dr. Jain wanted to be able to help people and save lives. She attributes her continuous success within her field to support from her family, along with a passion to help patients lead a better life.

At RWJBarnabas Health, Dr. Jain partakes in daily responsivities, including the management of acute and chronic kidney diseases, hypertension management, and post-renal transplant care. She also treats patients on hemodialysis and home/peritoneal dialysis, as well as educating them on various options for renal rehabilitation. Dr. Jain’s research interests include studying the relationship between health literacy, health education, and dialysis care.

Professional awards and honors obtained by Dr. Jain include being a Speaker at International Nephrology Conferences, as well as recognized member of the Rotary Club for helping destitute patients. She is professionally associated with the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, and Sigma Xi Research Society.

Within the next 5 years, Dr. Jain plans to continue helping patients live life to the fullest, using the latest advances in dialysis and renal transplants. She wants to provide options for her patients with kidney disease, providing them with dialysis and treatments so that they may live life to the fullest.

In her spare time, Dr. Jain participates in charitable efforts, including organizing blood drives in New Jersey, as well as boating, traveling, and reading.
