Dr. David Robson, M.D., M.H.C.D.S. has been warmly welcomed as “Best in Medicine” by the American Health Council’s Healthcare Board for his dedication to improving healthcare during 25 years as a surgeon and specialist in spine care.
Dr. Robson was inspired to pursue medicine after a knee injury left him interested in orthopedic surgery.. Upon receiving his M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1983, Dr. Robson completed an internship in general surgery at St. Louis University Hospital, and his residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Louis University Group Hospital. He developed an expertise in Reconstructive Lumbar Spine Surgery and Orthopedic Spine Surgery, undertaking a fellowship in spine surgery with Dr. Arthur Steffee at Cleveland Hospital and Behrooz Akbarnia at Saint Louis University.
In 2010, Dr. David Robson was appointed Chief of Surgery at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, and in 2016 he received his Master’s in Healthcare Delivery Science from Dartmouth College. Additionally, he has served on OR, Peer Review, and Medical Executive Committees.
As founder and director of Advanced Spine Institute, Dr. Robson oversees the provision of innovative, results-based care tailored to the needs of individual patients suffering from spine conditions or injuries. Advanced Spine Institute focuses on providing cost-effective, high-quality diagnoses and treatments—including surgical and non-invasive treatments—combined with state-of-the-art healing and pain management techniques. On a day-to-day basis, Dr. Robson consults with patients from his office three days a week and performs surgeries.
Keen to remain at the forefront of his industry, Dr. Robson is a member of the American Medical Association, the North American Spine Society, the Missouri Medical Association, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgery, St Louis Metropolitan Medical Society and American College of Healthcare Executives.
Looking back at his achievements to date, Dr. Robson attributes his success to his ability to get along with people. Over the next five years, his goal is to move into a specialty hospital and work to set up a spine and orthopedic surgery center within it.
In addition to his work commitments, he also maintains an active involvement with the Missouri Baptist Foundation Board.
