The American Health Council has welcomed Dr. Edward Stokes, MD, as “Best in Medicine” in recognition of his outstanding dedication in the field of Orthopedic Surgery.
Having gained over four decades of experience, Dr. Edward Stokes is a highly regarded medical professional and the proud owner of successful private practice, Edward Glen Stokes, MD. His extensive service to the profession has resulted in him garnering expertise in the specialist areas of Orthopedic Surgery, Disability Claims, and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Stokes had always possessed a natural passion for helping people and this led him to enroll at Howard University to study for a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, successfully attaining this in 1968. Dr. Stokes further his studies with a Medical Doctor degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Following this achievement, he then secured an internship and a residency at the esteemed King Drew Medical Center.
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Stokes’ day to day responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients suffering from a wide range of conditions including muscles, bones and joints issues, degenerative diseases, tumors, infections and birth defects.
Looking back at his many achievements, Dr. Stokes is proud to have had the opportunity to lecture across the world, including in Moscow, Russia, China, Japan and France. He has also been recognized for his work on numerous occasions, including being featured as one of The Leading Physicians in the World by the IAHCP.
Dr. Stokes attributes his success to his natural ability to adapt to different cultures and to having excellent exposure. He believes that the most successful doctors put these essential elements in place early on in their careers. Having had the immense pleasure of working with some outstanding mentors over the years, Dr. Stokes is particularly thankful to the late Robert Rohner MD and to Clarence Shields MD, who have helped him to become the professional that he is today.
When not busy working, Dr. Stokes keeps active by partaking in sports, traveling and sailing. He also enjoys reading up on the latest developments in orthopedics.
