The American Health Council has welcomed Dr. Rubin Seymour Cooper, M.D., as ” Best in Medicine” in recognition of his extensive experience in the specialty field of Pediatric Cardiology.
Dr. Rubin Cooper is Chief Emeritus of Pediatric Cardiology at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Former Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Service Line at Northwell Health System and Professor of Pediatrics at Zucker Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
Dr. Cooper attended Yeshiva University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. Upon graduation from Yeshiva, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College. His pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship were at the University of Rochester School of Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cooper is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Cooper holds New York State and Texas State Medical Licenses.
Dr. Rubin Cooper has been an outstanding, well-regarded physician for over 40 years with expertise in pediatric cardiology, particularly congenital, rheumatic and Kawasaki heart diseases as well as in clinical research. For over 10 years, Dr. Cooper has been the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at the Children’s Heart Center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Northwell Health System.
Prior to his tenure at Northwell, he served as the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Komansky Children’s Hospital at New York Presbyterian for 10 years, holding the titles of Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Weill Cornell Medical College and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s School of Physicians and Surgeons. He occupied the Starr-Starlight Foundation Chair in Pediatric Cardiology while at Weill Cornell Medical College. Before working at Weill Cornell, he was the Pediatric Cardiology Chief at North Shore University Hospital for 10 years. Dr. Cooper has been recognized by Castle Connolly as a top doctor in the New York Metro Area from 1999-2020. Dr. Cooper has contributed to over 60 medical publications and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association.
