Emilio Mantero-Atienza

The American Health Council has cordially appointed Dr. Emilio Mantero-Atinenzo, as “Best in Medicine.” Working in the healthcare industry for over 36 years, Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo is an expert in the treatment of acute psychosis and bipolar syndrome in an inpatient setting and possesses an exceptional willingness to continue learning and sharing his knowledge.

Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo completed his Medical Degree in 1990 at the Universidad de Seville, Spain. Following on from this achievement, he decided to continue his studies by completing his Masters in Public Health at the University of Miami. Subsequently, he also completed his residency at the University of Miami.

Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo has been serving in his current role at Emilio Mantero- Atienzo for the past 22 years. On a daily basis, Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo works in an inpatient setting conducting research and working within Mercy Hospital and the Kendal Medical Center, teaching both residents and medical students. In his previous roles, he was director of 2 detox centers as well as being the director of these 2 units.

Reflecting on his career to date, Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo attributes his success to his dedication to his field as well as his patient advocacy; he is passionate about serving as well as caring for each and every one of his patients.

Looking to the future, Dr. Mantero-Atinenenzo hopes to share his knowledge through teaching and management services as well as integrating his knowledge on clinical areas for better access to care.
