The American Health Council is honored to appoint Dr. Jonathan Dunn as “Best in Medicine.” Working in the healthcare industry for 30 years, Dr. Dunn is an esteemed expert in the fields of diabetes management and osteoporosis treatment.
Dr. Dunn first became involved in the medical field as he has always enjoyed taking care of others and felt a career in medicine would be highly rewarding. Dr. Dunn studied Endocrinology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating in 1983, followed by a Fellowship at the University of Connecticut and a Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He holds MD, F.A.C.P, and F.A.C.E certifications.
Dr. Dunn is currently employed as an Attending Physician at JFK Medical Association, a non-profit, 498-bed community hospital that serves the residents of Middlesex, Union, and Somerset counties in Central New Jersey. Founded in 1967, the JFK Medical Center today has over 900 affiliated physicians and offers a complete range of advanced services, including general and specialized surgery, cardiac care, maternity and pediatric care, and emergency medicine. JFK Medical Center is an affiliate of JFK Health and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Major services provided by JFK Medical Association include education, research, metabolism, patient care, and healthcare.
On a day to day basis, Dr. Dunn’s responsibilities include the management of diabetic patients, osteoporosis treatments, hospital consultations, and treating patients with thyroid issues and diabetes. Dr. Dunn has extensive expertise in diabetes management and osteoporosis treatment, attributing his career success to his hard work and dedication.
Among his many professional accolades, Dr. Dunn is honored to have been presented with The Fellow American College of Physicians Award. He is a member of a number of professional associations, including The Endocrine Society and The American Diabetes Association. Within the next five years, Dr. Dunn would like to complete the associate board review course.
In his free time, Dr. Dunn enjoys hiking. He also works with charitable organization, the Newark Beth Israel Diabetes Clinic, where he is an instructor for the residents.
