Kelby Kramer, R.Ph, has been warmly welcomed to the American Health Council for her accomplishments in the healthcare industry over the past 20 years, particularly for her current role as Hospital Account Manager.
Ms. Kramer first became involved in her healthcare profession during her high school years, where she spent her free time volunteering in the emergency department at the local community hospital. These early experiences cemented her belief that a career in medicine was her true calling. Ms. Kramer then spent the following years exploring various different avenues within the medical field, before deciding to pursue a career on the pharmaceutical and biotech side of the industry.
With a clear outcome in sight, Ms. Kramer focused her studies on Pharmaceutical Sciences, achieving her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and graduating with honors from Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1999. It was further on in her career, in 2009, that she returned to study for an MBA in Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School.
Ms. Kramer has served in her current role as Key Account Manager at Melinta Therapeutics for over two years. Melinta Therapeutics’ mission is to meet the continually evolving threat of bacterial infections by discovering, developing and commercializing a continual stream of novel antibiotics.
Displaying impressive expertise in the specialist areas of hospital account management and infectious diseases, Ms. Kramer has been the recipient of the President’s Award an outstanding seven times and has also had the privilege of being a Hall of Fame Inductee at Pfizer in 2010.
She attributes her success to using her background as a pharmacist as well as listening to better understand the needs of her customers. Ms Kramer looks to partner with the healthcare professionals, committees and hospitals she works with to help find solutions which ultimately benefit the lives of patients. Mostly she enjoys all of the smart, caring healthcare professionals she gets to work with every day and the impact her products bring to patients.
To remain ahead and build her knowledge in a continually advancing environment, Ms. Kramer remains an active member of the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In the future, Ms. Kramer strives to continue growing individually as well as mentoring others for their career advancement. As the industry evolves she is eager to lend her experience to help organizations focused in the hospital and infectious disease areas be successful in introducing products to the market that make a difference to patients’ lives.
Outside of work, Ms. Kramer grew up competing in equestrian events and currently is an active member of the United States Tennis Association, with her team representing New Jersey at Nationals in Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Kramer also dedicates any spare time she has to the Hills Tennis Association (HTA) where she served as a Board member. Also, in her free time she enjoys travelling and is a member of the Hoboken Ski Club.
