Kevin Kear, PA-C was recently named “Best in Medicine” by the American Health Council for his dedication and passion to improve others’ lives. A physician assistant at The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey in Newton, N.J., Mr. Kear consults with patients and their families to ensure that they receive high-quality and immediate care. While he has held his current role for four years, Mr. Kear has spent the last 16 years expanding his skills and knowledge in sports medicine, shoulder, knee, foot and ankle and orthopedic surgery.
Drawing inspiration from his mother, who was an orthopedic nurse for 25 years, Mr. Kear decided to pursue a career in the orthopedic field. After earning a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pa., and a second master’s degree in athletic training from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, W. Va., Mr. Kear quickly dove into the medical field. Since 2014, he has consulted with hundreds of patients at The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey, where he oversees injections to new patients as well as post-operative patients. His favorite part of his role is forming connections with patients in the operating room and being able to provide them with the care they require.
To remain connected with fellow peers, Mr. Kear is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In his free time, he enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle by biking, playing baseball, football, wrestling and lifting weights, as well as spending time with family and friends. Mr. Kear attributes his success to his faith and blessings, as well as his parents, who lent him support throughout his academic and professional pursuit. He remains grateful to his parents and their continuous guidance. He plans to maintain his success by continuing to build further experience within the orthopedic field, as well as grow in his current role.
