Whilst completing rotations in this area, he realized this wasn’t the best fit for his skills. Drawing on his education and experience, Dr. Ribic has specialized in both internal medicine and patient care.
Formed in 2000 by Dr. Martin Sokol and Dr. Humayun Milan, Bay Area Hospitalists was established to fill a gap in the healthcare industry. They were pioneers, seeing that Primary Care Providers had an innate need for hospitalists, especially in Tampa Bay. Bay Area Hospitalists are proud to be experts in both patient care but also in communication as these skills are essential with working with referring PCPs. The organization specializes in hospitalist, primary care, nursing, medicine, internal medicine and healthcare.
For Dr. Ribic, his role includes visiting three assisted living facilities to perform rounds each week. In addition, at two skilled nursing facilities, he fulfills the role of Medical Director by seeing skilled patients in a timely manner, as well as long term care residents that are seen every 30-60 days for wellness visits. He serves in the role of Certified Medical Director, where he strives to achieve the lowest re-hospitalization rates.
In order to broaden his expertise and knowledge, Dr. Ribic is a member of The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine and the Hillsborough County Medical Association. He credits his achievements to having an ingrained passion for his role, in addition to his enjoyment for the role and his perseverance. He abides by his personal motto to not begin his weekend until all his work is completed.
Over the next five years, Dr. Ribic plans to continue dedicating his attention to providing patient-centered care whilst also continuing to guide the next generation of medical professionals. In his downtime, Dr. Ribic loves to switch off and relax by visiting new restaurants and spending time on or near the water.
