Negar Beheshti

The American Health Council has warmly welcomed Dr. Negar Beheshti MD, as “Best in Medicine.” Working in the healthcare industry for over 17 years, Dr. Beheshti has amassed a wealth of experience in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Beheshti attained her M.D. at the University of Minnesota where she graduated in 2001. Following this achievement, Dr. Beheshti began her journey within the healthcare sector. Initially, Dr. Beheshti started out in dermatology, but soon realised that pediatrics was a better fit for her, as she is passionate about the preventive aspects of the field.

Having upheld her current position for seven years, Dr. Beheshti is the Chief of Clinical Services, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Beheshti is responsible for overseeing a $10 million contract budget for the statewide system and also ensures the clinic is providing quality care and that they’re being compliant.

The Center is dedicated to enhancing the health of people in Central Massachusetts through exceptional care, well equipped health services, education and research. Throughout her 17 year career, Dr. Beheshti has made a successful impact within her field. One achievement she is particularly proud of is being an invited speaker to AACAP. Dr. Beheshti attributes her success to her persistence, having exceptional mentors and to being a natural leader.

To broaden her knowledge and understanding, Dr. Beheshti is an active member of several professional associations including; the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, Dr. Beheshti also serves on 2 AACAP committees as a charitable gesture.

Professional goals over the coming years involve Dr. Beheshti further developing her knowledge and expertise in the field, so that she can continue to make a positive contribution to the lives of her patients.

During her free time, Dr. Beheshti loves spending time with her family and friends, as well as traveling to new places. To relax, she enjoys playing the piano.
