Nisha Bhide

PharmD, BCPS

The American Health Council has warmly welcomed Dr. Nisha Bhide, PharmD, BCPS, as “Best in Medicine.” Despite only being in the profession for 4 years, Dr. Bhide has already been recognized for her impressive achievements in the field of Pharmacy.

Dr. Bhide’s interest in her profession stems from always been passionate about helping people and she felt pharmacy would be the best avenue for her to serve those in need. After leaving high school, Dr. Bhide was accepted straight into pharmacy school where she excelled; this was pivotal in jump starting her career.

Focusing her studies in pharmacy, Dr. Bhide attained her PharmD from Rutgers University, graduating in 2014. Dr. Bhide has also attained her BCPS, and is recognized as a Board Certified Pharmaceutical Specialist.

In respect of Dr. Bhides educational background, she earned herself the opportunity to complete extensive training in her field which includes a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2014-15, a PGY-2 Health-system Corporate Pharmacy Administration Residency in 2015-16 and an Executive Pharmacy Leadership and Supply Chain Management Fellowship in 2016-17.

Dr. Bhide has spent the past 10 months in her current position as Senior Manager at Ascension. Displaying expertise in pharmacy administration, Dr. Bhide works in a corporate setting, overseeing and providing leadership for other pharmacy professionals. Dr. Bhide thrives in a team setting with an overall aim to work towards the implementation of new regulations and rules. Dr. Bhide enjoys tackling these new challenges to ensure best practice methods.

Ascension’s pharmacists do more than stock prescriptions. Throughout the patient’s hospital stay, their pharmacy team collaborates with their doctors and nurses and use the latest technology to help streamline the patient’s treatment and recovery. Before patients begin a drug treatment and at any time throughout its course, their pharmacists thoroughly explain outcomes and possible side effects that patients should expect, as well as answer any questions. Receiving the proper information about medications and their management can help patients take charge of their long-term wellness.

Looking back at her short but prosperous career to date, Dr. Bhide attributes her success to the great mentors that she has had the pleasure to work alongside and have guided her as well as having a strong support system in her family.

In a continuous effort to broaden her knowledge, Dr. Bhide maintains membership with various professional associations which include the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, PDC, the Phi Lambda Sigma- Pharmacy Leadership Society, the International Pharmaceutical Federation and the Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Looking to the future, Dr. Bhide plans to work diligently to expand the reach of Ascension to a larger population. Dr. Bhide also aspires to develop and strengthen her position as well as continue to deliver excellence in patient care.

In her free time outside of work Dr. Bhide enjoys traveling to destinations internationally and domestically.
