Leader in Medicine

Shelli Ridge

The American Health Council has warmly welcomed Dr. Shelli Ridge as “Best in Medicine” in recognition of her contributions to the sector, particularly through her role as a Physician.

Wanting to combine her interests of medicine and psychology with her knack for ‘knowing what makes people tick’, Dr. Ridge always knew that a career in healthcare was her calling. She immediately focused her studies on Osteopathic Medicine and Biology, achieving her BS from Wright State University in 2007, followed by her DO from Ohio University in 2011. This was further reinforced with a Board Certification in Osteopathic Medicine.

For the past two years, Dr. Shelli Ridge has worked a Physician for Providence Medical Group, which along with its sister company, Providence Health Partners, is one of the region’s largest healthcare provider organizations owned solely and independently by its member physicians. The group specializes in a wide range of patient services including Primary Care, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Physical Therapy, Sleep Services, Proctology, Holistic Healthcare, Skin and Laser Center, Clinical Research and Laboratory Services.

The primary forces driving Providence’s organizational efforts include building a leadership role in shaping the future of health care in their area, preserving the opportunity for clinical and professional freedom and adherence to a philosophy of ongoing patient-centered care based on a true physician/patient partnership.

With particular expertise in Family Medicine, Dr. Ridge’s day-to-day responsibilities include practicing in an independent sole group, seeing patients from newborn to 95+ years old, treating typical ailments, providing counseling, and offering family support.

Keen to remain updated in an ever-changing industry, Dr. Ridge maintains memberships to a number of professional organizations including the American College of Osteopathic Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and most recently, The American Health Council.

Looking back at her impressive achievements to date, Dr. Ridge attributes her success to her natural ability to listen to her patients. She also counts her husband, Brian who is an RN Flight Nurse at a local hospital, and her two sons, aged 5 and 3, as her greatest achievements.

Dr. Ridge’s goals within the next 5 years include growing her population, ageing with her practice, staying independent, and serving her community. When not busy working Dr. Ridge enjoys spending quality time with her family. She is also extremely charitable and dedicates her free time to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
