Sheng Liu, MD will be bringing her expertise in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Primary Care, and Family Medicine, sharpened by 19 years of industry experience, to the American Health Council’s Board of Physicians. Presently Medical Director of Broadway Health Center at MetroHealth Medical Center, Dr. Liu fosters an inspiring work environment for her clinical staff to provide the highest-quality patient care. The American Health Council Physician Board proudly recognizes Dr. Liu’s laudable service to her community and her talent as educator and physician.
Dr. Lui always had a passion for medicine. After her grandmother passed away, Dr. Liu discovered her family lacked an understanding of why such a tragedy occurred and how they could have prevented it. Dr. Liu wanted to be able to answer their concerns and help others become aware of life-saving preventative measures. Intent on gaining that missing perspective, she committed herself to a rigorous medical education. Dr. Liu acquired her medical degree from Capital Institute of Medicine and subsequently completed her residency and internship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where she currently exercises her clinical talents.
In her capacity as Medical Director of the Broadway Health Center, Dr. Liu collaborates with specialists and oversees the physicians. Her duties can be far-reaching and often administrative in nature. She works in a health system with multiple satellite clinics and is responsible for the intricate operations in the Primary Care Clinic as well as Express Clinic. All active MetroHealth physicians are faculty of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In addition to her service as Medical Director, Dr. Liu is also Assistant Professor at Case Western’s School of Medicine.
Among a plethora of professional accomplishments, Dr. Liu is particularly honored to have many of her written pieces published. She attributes her success to her hard work and dedication to her community’s health awareness. Dr. Liu is honored to have received the APU Mayoral Recognition Award and the Faculty of the Year Award for her exceptional guidance of the next generation of medical doctors. She has also received various Community Awards for her passion for community causes. Additionally, Dr. Liu serves on the Clinical and Patient Educators Association’s (CPEA) Board of Directors. Dr. Liu enhances her peer relationships with associations with the Academy of Family Physicians, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Chief Medical Officer at the International Community Health Center, and now, the American Health Council.
Dr. Liu is bilingual in English and Chinese. She commendably uses this ability to open essential dialogue channels and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship to improve medical results. Further demonstrating her commitment to community improvement, Dr. Liu opened a successful medication assistance treatment program designed to address the substance abuse epidemic. Dr. Liu is proud of this program’s present success among local members. She finds this community work especially rewarding and hopes to address major issues facing community health in the future. Dr. Liu wants to continue making a difference in the lives of her patients and within her community. When she isn’t giving charitably to other community initiatives, Dr. Liu loves to spend her time with her husband and two sons.
