William H. Julien MD is appointed to the American Health Council’s Board of Physicians. Dr. Julien will be bringing his incredible 25 years of clinical experience and expertise in Lower Extremity Revascularization, Minimally Invasive Procedures, and Interventional Radiology to the Physician Board. Among his many professional accomplishments, Dr. Julien is most proud of establishing his private medical practice, South Florida Vascular Associates,where he currently serves as President. The American Health Council recognizes Board-Certified Radiologist Willian Julien MD for his innovative approach to patient care and laudable contributions to the radiology field.

As a student, Dr. Julien was inspired by the rewarding career and selfless professional character of his best friend’s father, who was a Family Practitioner. Supplemented by his strong intellect and talent for the biomedical sciences, Dr. Julien used that inspiration to attain a medical degree from Washington University, St. Louis in 1986. He then completed fellowships where he gained specific training and board certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. In pursuit of a rewarding clinical career where he can utilize his very specialized skills, Dr. Julien founded South Florida Vascular Associates 16 years ago. South Florida Vascular Associates is a comprehensive medical practice specializing in minimally invasive endovascular procedures, which are effective for treating a wide range of vascular conditions. Their highly specialized Interventional Radiologists use state-of-the-art diagnostic technology that ensures high-quality patient focused care. South Florida Vascular Associates’ dedicated and knowledgeable staff offers the best care to each and every patient. They emphasize patient education offering their patients clear explanations of their diagnosis and treatment plan.  As President of his practice, Dr. Julienoccupies a clinical role, consulting with patients and providing appropriate medical care. Dr. Julien attributes his overwhelming professional success to his hard work and dedication. He was one of the first physicians in the United States to open an Office Interventional Suite, providing American patients with essential access to specialized medical care. A testament to his leadership at the forefront of medical advancement, Dr. Julien is also known as one of the first Interventional Radiologists to have an office-based, clinical practice in the United States. He aspires to promote exceptional patient care and continued advancement in his field in his work. Towards this end, he founded the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society (OEIS), of which he served as Immediate Past President from 2015 to 2017.

In recognition of his professional excellence throughout his career, Dr. Julien received the Top Doctors Award and serves as a member of the Council on Cardiovascular Radiology for the American Heart Association and a member of the Practice Affairs Committee and the Society of Interventional Radiology. In addition, he has also been on the advisory boards of Boston Scientific, Diomed, and Medcomp, Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (CSI), and Ziehm. Dr. Julien, to maintain relationships with his peers, preserves professional associations with the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American Heart Association, the American Health Council, and the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society (OEIS).

Dr. Julien is often consulted by peers and students for his unique clinical insight. Not only has he been asked to speak at several National Endovascular meetings, he has also had the privilege to train many physicians on cutting-edge minimally invasive procedures. He hopes to continue sharing his medical knowledge as a mentor to new doctors in the future. True to Dr. Julien’s humanitarian character, he also hopes to open addition Office Endovascular Suites in underserved areas to help patients within the next few years. Furthermore, he regularly donates altruistically to Native American Health Care. In his free time, Dr. Julien enjoys collecting watches, making jewelry, collecting fine wine, and traveling with his family. American Health Council celebrates Dr. Julien for his commitment to healthcare access to underserved patient populations and exceptional work in the field of medicine thus far.
